Overview
We are looking for an experienced department manager for our Mechanical Assembly team who is responsible for the entire mechanical assembly process. In this role, you will lead a team of around 35 employees who are responsible for the internal assembly and external installation of our insulators as well as the training, recruitment and induction of new employees. Your focus is on ensuring the efficient, high-quality, cost-effective and timely completion of our projects as well as the further development of our internal processes and employees. Regular coordination and innovation drive our competitiveness in order to meet the high demands of our customers and expand our market position.
Responsibilities
- Overall management of the Mechanical Assembly department with technical support from Functional Coordinators
- Resource and budget planning
- Ensuring the internal assembly and external installation of our insulators for customers worldwide
- Co-operation with our assembly units in Germany, USA and Japan
- Active participation in the strategic and future planning of the division
- Development, planning and implementation of training programmes and induction processes for new employees
- Creating and maintaining work instructions and ensuring their implementation
- Recruitment of employees in close coordination with the team and HR
- Continuous development and optimisation of internal processes and methods
- Personal and professional development of employees
- Close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Responsibility for the safety of employees
- Willingness to travel worldwide (approx. 10%)
Hardskills
- Completed basic technical training with further training as an industrial foreman or technician / HF
- Several years of relevant professional and management experience in an industrial environment
- Experience in managing with key performance indicators (KPI)
- Experience with lean management
- Business fluent in German and English
